What’s Frog Hair? The short grass that separates the putting green from the rough or fairway.
Also called the apron, collar, or fringe.
What’s in that place anyway? Frog Hair is made up of handsome décor celebrating much of golf culture and history. You’ll enjoy a relaxed Country Club feel, warm woods, roaring fire, comfortable lounges, inviting dining room, expansive bar, professional conference room and one of a kind outdoor patio.
How does the golf work? Each simulator uses Doppler radar, which shoots out approximately 6,000 waves per second. This technology tracks and records everything a golfer and golf ball does, from the moment the swing begins. You swing and play just as you would on an outside golf course.
Do I use my own clubs? Yes. You use your own clubs and balls. We also have top of the line demo clubs for men, women, children, and ‘lefties’ that are available for rent and/or borrow at all times. We’ll even lend you some golf balls.
How realistic are the golf courses? There are about 30 courses from which to choose, from par 3’s to expert venues. In most cases, the courses are realistic down to the tree! The landscaping, club houses, etc. and depths and elevations are the same as the real life courses. You will have the same results playing Frog Hair’s Pebble Beach as you will have at the real Pebble Beach. (Hint: If you have limited skills, do not start with Pebble Beach!!)
Is the simulator accurate? Absolutely. On an outside course, you guess the actual distance of your shots. Our simulator can give you accurate yardage to within a foot, along with many other helpful diagnostics. You can practice on a course, a driving range or putting green. You can set ground, weather and wind conditions from any direction. If you want to practice hitting over and over again into a high wind that is blowing directly in your face, you can do it accurately on our simulators!
How long does it take to play? It takes the average golfer about one hour to play 18 holes on a golf simulator. So, if you are a single, you will need one hour, a twosome will need two hours, etc., etc. Many people simply “play around” for an hour or so, to explore what is available in our simulated world of golf.
Is there anything else like Frog Hair? In short, no! With the emergence of new technology, simulator golf is slowly making its debut, but there is nothing quite like Frog Hair! With the combination of the beautiful grille & bar, expansive outdoor patio, and 8 golf simulators (public & private), Frog Hair is the first of its kind and in a class by itself.
